New Case Against Duminda Silva (Video)
The Attorney General has instructed for cases to be filed against thirteen suspects including Parliamentarian Duminda Silva in connection to the killing of Bharatha Lakshman Premachandra.
Assistant Superintendent of Police of the Criminal Investigations Department, Shani Abeysekara had informed the Colombo Additional Magistrate Prasanna
Silva regarding this move today.
He had informed court that cases will be filed against the suspects under section 146 -300 and 296 of the Penal Code.
Assistant Superintendent of Police of CID, Shani Abeysekera also said that Attorney General Palitha Fernando had decided to free seven suspects who were taken into custody in connection to the killing.
Moreover, the magistrate announced that the norm of transferring a case to Court No. 06 once charges have been filed against the suspects should be followed in this instance as well.
