And trains are now operating
The Dehiwala rail track previously blocked by fishermen has now been cleared off, following the tense situation in the morning.
A tense situation was created by fishing communities in Dehiwala area, blocking the train tracks and demanding authorities to rescue fishermen who had gone missing in the rough sea due to the strong winds.
Fishing folk are advised to refrain from going to sea in the
next 24 hours as strong winds could be experienced from Mannar-Pottuvil via Colombo, Galle and Hambantota, the Disaster Management Centre announced.
