Yesterday after making a special statement, the district Member of the UNP for Kurunegala , Dayasiri Jayasekara tendered his resignation from the United National Party. He was later given the membership of the Sri Lanka Freedom
Party by The President Mahinda Rajapaksa.
When the President met Dayasiri Jayasekara at ‘Temple Tress’ to obtain his SLFP membership the stalwarts of the party Susil Premajayantha, Nimal Siripala de Silva, Dullas Alahapperuma and all the government Ministers and members of the Parliament in the Kurunegala had been present at the occasion.
It is learnt Dayasiri Jayasekara had visited ‘Temple Trees’ on the invitation of the HE President yesterday evening. On arrival Dayasiri Jayasekara had been warmly welcomed by the President and has had cordial talks.
