After her artificial hand was fixed she and her mother were afforded the opportunity to pay visit several places of interest in Germany. All necessary facilities were arranged by the former Army Commander on the instructions received by the HE President with the coordination of the Ministry of Defence.
After returning to Sri Lanka Achala Priyadarshini had this to say.
”I proceeded to Germany on the 27th of last month. The artificial hand was supplied and fixed by one of the most reputed medical institutions in Germany The artificial hand when looked at is obvious to any person. I will have to wear a long sleeves top to cover it. It could be stretched, bent and turned like a normal hand. The hand also could be twisted and turned from the wrist. It is better having it than staying devoid of a hand. It is obviously a real asset having it. I wish to express my profound gratitude to everyone who helped me in this exercise”.
