Chamal to Obtain Prime Minister Post

Minister of Transport, Mr Kumara Welgama says that, if Mr D.M.Jayarathne will retire as the Prime Minister, Speaker Chamal Rajapaksa is the most suitable person for the post.
"All seniors of the Sri Lanka Freedom Party will agree with that”, he says.
The Minister has expressed these views, while participating in a ceremony held in Matugama area.He also said that, it was him who first said that, Mr Mahinda Rajapaksa should be the next President of this country, while many have advised him not to make such
statements.
”I am not afraid to tell the truth”, he said.
“Prime Minister Mr D.M.Jayarathne, is suffering from illness.During the Chandrika regime, I was the first person who said that,Mr Mahinda Rajapaksa is the most suitable person for the Presidential candidacy. It was also published in the newspapers those days.Present Cabinet Ministers, who were members of the parliament at that time, have told me to be careful, since I may be a cutthroat victim. Now I say that, Chamal is the most suitable person for the post of Prime Minister, if the post has been vacated,” he mentioned.
“Mr Chamal Rajapaksa ids a very senior member of the Sri Lanka Freedom Party, and a person who has continuously stayed with the party. He has also a person with high intelligence, who has taken necessary steps as the Speaker of the Parliament, to solve the crisis occurred recently at the parliament. The senior of the S.L.F.P. will agree with this ", he said.
However, informed sources say that, many party seniors are intending to become the Prime Minister during the next cabinet reshuffle.
