Vice Chancellor of the Moratuwa University, Professor Ananda Jayawardana has said that, the Technical Institute of the Moratuwa University will be removed soon from the Moratuwa Campus premises, due to the continuous clashes between the Engineering Students and the N.D.T.students.
The Vice Chancellor has also said that, a 20 acre land has been purchased from Diyagma area of Homagama, to establish the Technical Institute, while the necessary buildings and other facilities will be established at a cost of
Rs 10000 Million.

The Technical Institution of the Moratuwa University has been established at the Moratuwa Campus premises in the year 2000.It enrolls about 350 students annually.
The Vice Chancellor has further said that, the Technical Institution will be established at Diyagama area within a year, at least with the basic facilities.
“The enrollment of students will be increased up to 1000, after establishing all facilities”, he emphasized.
