New Prime Minister
According to the higher government sources, government authorities, including President Mahinda Rajapaksa,has paid their attention to appoint a new Prime Minister,due to the poor health condition of prime Minister,Mr D.m Jayarathne. These reports also say that, most probably, Mr Dinesh Gunawardame will be appointed as the new Prime Minister.
Certain groups of the S.L.F.P., have expressed their displeasure in this regards,since Mr Dinesh Gunawardane is the Leader of Mahajana Eksath Peramuna,and not a
member of the Sri Lanka Freedom Party.
Sources say that accordingly,Mr Dinesh Gunawardane will dissolve his party, ‘The Mahajana Eksath Peramuna’,and obtain the membership of Sri Lanka Freedom Party, in the near future.
