Buddhist Power
The Provincial council elections in the East were completed only lately. The chairperson Ariyawathie Gaalapaththy kept justice aside and always worked towards injustice which is not a secret to anyone. On the Tuesday the 19th February at the Provincial council sessions she proposed to bring a motion against the Bodu Bala Sena organisation who is taking a huge interest about a Halal to protest against this organisation. The chairperson had attempted to win her proposal to go against the Bodu Bala Sena organisation.
All Muslim and Tamil members had been agreeable for her
proposal. But among the nine Sinhalese members only three members including Member Priyantha Pathirana and the two others had disagreed to this proposal. Accordingly the proposal could not get passed according to the wishes of
the chairperson Ariyawathie Galapaththy. After the sessions Ariyawathie Galapaththy had called Priyantha Pathirana had tokd “I will see about you”.
On the 21st February night Ariyawathie Galapaththy had sent her son Susantha Galappaththy with a LTTE supporter her private body guard and other ‘golayas’ to meet Member Priyantha Pathirana. At Priyantha’s residence he had been assaulted severely. This incident had occurred on the 21st night when a friend had come to meet Priyantha around 8 p.m. By 8.20p.m Priyantha had got beaten properly and he had been admitted to the Trincomalee hospital. As his condition was bad on the 22nd February he had been airlifted in a helicopter to the Colombo’s national hospital for treatment. It is now learnt that Priyantha is been treated at the Intensive Care unit, under special care and attention.
It is now learnt that Ariyawathie is telling various absconding stories. WShen she had heard that Priyantha’s condition she had sent her son and the security personnel to the Trincomalee hospital to see him. As a Sinhalese Buddhist woman for power and money she had caused this debacle to the innocent Sinhalese Buddhist Pradeshiya Saba Member. This is not a attack made on this young Buddhist Sinhalese council member but a attack to all Buddhist Sinhalese people in the country
We should today, tomorrow and in the future should do politics irrespective of community and religion and for the betterment of the entire people.
