The Thai government was enraged due to an advertisement campaign launched by a low cost airline called Nok air, featuring stewardesses in bikinis. Authorities alleges the company of blemishing the state image and highlighting the sex tourism.
The airline has promised new company calenders featuring sexy stewardesses for the participants of this online campaign. Maxim Magazine models, dressed in rather revealing outfits as stewardesses have been photographed in front of a ‘Nok Air’ plane.
This campaign was launched through the company’s Face Book Page.A local official who has filed a case against this
campaign with the Cultural Affairs Ministry,has said that,this advertisement should be banned since it is harming the image of Thailand.
Expressing his views to the ‘Bangkok Post’, he has said that, this campaign focuses the country’s bad reputation regarding sex services. He also said that, this photographs may induce the passengers to abuse the stewardesses.
However, it is impossible to take legal action against this campaign, since it is well within the limits of the law.The company is trying to protect the campaign saying that,the campaign is focused on their current customers.
Mr Patee Sarasin, the Chief Executive of the company has said that,  their intention is to provide a souvenir to their customers, while the company has received positive feedback.
