The suspects accused of the murder of the Chief Buddhist monk of the Sunandopanandaramaya Temple in Egoda Uyana, Moratuwa were remanded until February 28.
Nine of the suspects were presented in an identification parade while four of the suspects were identified.
The Deputy Mayor of Moratuwa Municipal Council was also among those remanded by the Moratuwa Magistrate Court.
The Deputy Mayor of Moratuwa Municipal Council, Sujith Pushpakumara was arrested in connection with the killing of a monk on February 4.

Temple in Egoda Uyana, Moratuwa, was stabbed to death over a land dispute.
The two main suspects of the murder were found shot dead in Bandaragama area.
It is reported that there had been a long standing dispute between the monk and two men who were illegally living on the Temple land.
The monk who had already filed a case against the two men had again lodged a complaint at the police station regarding the dispute.
