T. B. Ekanayake Speaks
Minister of Culture and Aesthetic Affairs T. B. Ekanayake attended an event held in Polpithigama, Kurunegala on Monday.
The event was held to declare open the Karudu-Ela bridge which was constructed on the Galtanwawa – Yapahuwa road. The Minister expressed the following views:
The Mahinda Rajapaksa era is an era that serves the people and provides for the villages. We know that in 2005 the opposition leader was preparing to commemorate the
arrival of the Portuguese in the country in 1505. This shows the knowledge and the sentiments towards the country. This is why unsuccessful organisers are appointed to the Executive Council and the Working Committee.
If an organiser contests and loses - he is given a post as a member in the Working Committee. The more a person loses the more posts he receives.
