Five people including two Tibetan pilgrims were injured in a serial blast inside the Mahabodhi temple complex at Bodhgaya on Sunday morning.
According to Gaya police, the blasts took place in quick succession between 5.30 am and 6 am in the temple complex and near Mahabodhi tree.

While condemning the probe by the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) on a book written by UNP Leader Ranil Wickremesinghe the UNP questioned as to whether the CID had no other important incidents to investigate.
Mr. Wickremesinghe had written the book titled 'Deshapalanaya Saha Dharmaya’ in 2005 with funds received by the Friedrich Naumann Foundation.
“The book is only about Buddhism and the way its teachings can be put into practice when governing a country. We don’t see why the CID should conduct an investigation on the book,” UNP General Secretary Tissa Attanayke told a news conference today.

A tense situation prevailed at the Lahugala Viharamahadevi Primary School in Ampara yesterday when Eastern Province Governor Mohan Wijewickrama visited the school to look into shortcomings there.
The Governor was warmly welcome by the parents and students but when he announced that the students must go to the Lahugala Old Govipala School for grade two from next year, the parents ran amok and objected to it.

The Buddhist Monk who fought for slaughtering of cattles and burnt himself day before yeaterday(24) at the Temple of the tooth, Kandy died yesterday at 8:30pm local time.
Then his Body was taken to the Borella Funeral Parlour where people protested to take the the body of the Monk.
The main idea was to take the body to Rathnapura.
Then the people of 'Sinhala Raawaya' and another 500 people protested to do his funeral house at Colombo.

A Monk burnt himself

A Buddhist monk from Kandy burnt himself because of the rapid increase of cows dying in Sri Lanka.This incident happened in the Temple of the tooth in front the 'Bodhi'.

This monk's name is B.Indrarathne.He was admitted to the general hospital of Kandy and been shifted to Colombo general hospital.

He did this because of the rapid increase of number deaths of cows in Sri Lanka said the Media Announcer of Police
