Initial reports suggested that the UNP was to decide who would be appointed as the new Deputy Leader of the party with former Deputy Leader Sajith Premadasa, Ravi Karunanayake, Kabir Hashim and Lakshman Kiriella being
nominated for the post.
However, sources claim that the Working Committee will not appoint the Deputy Leader at the meeting.
