Ranil Speaks
Opposition Leader Ranil Wickramasinghe today requested President Mahinda Rajapaksa to implement the proposals presented to the United Nations Human Rights Council in 2009.
Referring to the President’s speech at the Independence Day celebration in which he called on the opposition to help uplift the nation, the UNP leader stated that they are prepared to advise and assist the Rajapaksa government.
However, if the opposition is to extend such support, the
government should act according to the proposals it submitted to the UN Human Rights Council, Wickramasinghe said addressing a press briefing at the TNA office in Kilinochchi.
