
Another Monk Attack in India
Central railway station in Chennai in South India some LTTE extremists had attacked another Buddhist monk. They had fled away after assaulting the monk.
This monk had travelled in the ‘Express’ train from New Delhi to the Chennai railway station where he was assaulted, it is reported by the Indian media.
This Buddhist monk from the Kandy area had accompanied 20 pilgrims from kandy to India on a ‘Dambadiva’
pilgrimage. This incident gad occurred amidst this tour. After this incident 19 pilgrims had been sent back to Sri Lanka
The Buddhist monk who was subjected to the attack had been kept back in safe custody by the Police.
The media in India reports that those who assaulted the monk had fled away.
A few days earlier another Buddhist monk who is attached to a Archaeological survey Institute affiliated to the New Delhi University had been attacked when he had gone to Tamil Nadu ‘Viharaya’ to collect some details related to a survey.
