For the 13th amendment
It is due to hold the 1st meeting of the Parliament Selection Committee for deciding about the13th constitution amendment today.
Foreign Minister G.L. Peiris said that although if someone does not come, it cannot be postponed and the government will continue with persons participating in that.
The Minister further said that people have received a
chance to express their view once in several months as a result of the democracy.
The Minister said that 13th amendment is 25 years old. Therefore, accordingly changes after 25 years it should be changed. The parliament should be pay attention to make amendments according to the social changes within the past 25 years.
Minister said that there is a Parliament Selection Committee and the government expects to listen to all the members and come to a common view.
